DETAILS

For those impacted by suicide, the healing process is often a twisted path. The suddenness of the loss and the anger and confusion associated with the act makes healing complicated at best, impossible at worst. The stigma of suicide, depression, and other mental health issues, including grief, leave the survivors with few people with whom they can share their journey. The goals of Lights Into the Darkness are to: • bring a voice to the epidemic of suicide and reduce the stigma associated with mental health issues including depression, addiction, grief, and suicidality • offer a cathartic, creative outlet and a community of support to those impacted by suicide through sculpture build and display of the community of lantern figures • raise funds for mental health support and services for our community through the Irish Diaspora Center Lights Into the Darkness is your opportunity to show your commitment to the conversation. Partner with the Irish Diaspora Center and artist, Tom Meskell, in this poignant display of more than 100 life-size lantern figures placed at Dilworth Plaza at Philadelphia's City Hall. Each of the 100 plus figures will light the night and create a highly visible event. The exhibit will open to a ceremony and reception. We are seeking partners to help bring this unique project to fruition and lend their brand and voice to the conversation around mental health, suicide, grief, and addiction. Your support is vital to the success of this project. Please consider how you can make a commitment to supporting those left behind and ending the epidemic of suicide.
